EMPLOYER FLASH: Illinois Small Group – Clarification on Discontinuation of PPO Products in 2025.

Recently, your group and members received letters detailing the discontinuation of Health Alliance Small Group PPO products beginning in 2025.  Here’s some additional information for clarification:

• Letters were sent to you and your members because you currently offer a Small Group PPO product. We have a federal requirement to provide notice of discontinuation to employers and covered employees 90 days prior to the discontinuation of coverage.
• PPO products will only be discontinued upon your renewal effective date – if you renew mid-year, you’ll continue to have your current coverage through the end of the month prior to renewal. For example, a group renewing 7/1/2025 will have their current coverage until 6/30/2025.
• Renewal portfolios in 2025 will map groups and members to the closest POS alternative by default. Of course, you’re free to renew on a different plan alternative if you’d like.
