Health Insurance Marketplace Notice Requirement
May 24, 2013The US Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) recently issued Technical Release 2013-02 to give employers guidance for the health insurance marketplace notice requirement.
Employers will be required to provide the notices to each new employee, at the time of hire, beginning October 1, 2013, or for current employees by no later than October 1, 2013. EBSA released 2 versions, one for use by employers that offer a health plan and one for employers that do not offer a health plan.
In addition to the Model Marketplace Notices, EBSA also released a Model COBRA Election Notice that incorporates reference to options available through the exchange. Originally required for distribution by March 1, 2013, EBSA postponed the exchange notice requirement earlier this year.
Health Alliance Network Changes in Rockford
Our network in the Rockford area now includes Rockford Memorial Hospital physicians and facilities, in addition to OSF St. Anthony. This applies to all commercial members.
As of July 1, 2013, Swedish American physicians and facilities are no longer part of our network.
