Updates to January Invoices

Your January invoice may show a lower premium than you usually pay. This invoice and premium are correct. The difference is due to a rule of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) which requires a premium lock-in for small groups. This means we, as an insurance carrier, cannot rate-up a group member when they age into a higher age bracket during the year. If we rated up a group member in the previous year, we put them back on the lower-premium tier (the premium before the change was made). When the group renews in 2014, the rates will use the member’s correct age.
